After all, neutron stars \u2013 celestial bodies with super strong magnetic fields \u2013 are made from collapsed star cores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to recent research, we share one similarity: the geometry of the matter that makes us.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cSeeing very similar shapes in strikingly different systems suggests the energy of a system may depend on its shape in a simple and universal way,\u201d said the astrophysicist Charles Horowitz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pasta-like structures of neutron stars look just like the structures inside biological cells, even though they are vastly different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the similarity is cool, and makes us feel connected to the cosmos in a strange way, the differences signify the importance of the discovery, because they hint that two very different things \u2013 cells and neutron stars \u2013<strong> might be guided by the same geometric rules that we are only just beginning to understand.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further research is needed to figure out what is going on here, but it is a starting point that could help us understand the structure of matter better, and it is exciting to think where that could lead us.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scientists have discovered a bizarre similarity between human cells and neutron stars.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":95,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[10,17],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Are we stardust?
